Small talk at a Trade Fair: My Family
André: Hello there! I couldn't help but notice your booth. I'm André, and I work in plastic molding. Nice to meet you. Thomas: Hi, André! I'm Thomas. It's great to meet someone in the same business. How's the trade fair treating you so far? André: It's been interesting, Thomas. I've seen some new machinery and materials that could be useful for my business. How about you? Any exciting discoveries? Thomas: Absolutely, André. I've found a few potential suppliers for moulds. By the way, do you have a family? André: Yes, I do. I'm married with two kids, a boy and a girl. How about you? Thomas: That's great, André. I'm in the same boat, married with two kids, both boys. How do you balance work and family life? André: It can be a challenge, but I try to set aside quality time for my family, especially on weekends. We enjoy going on little trips or simply having family game nights. Thomas: That sounds lovely, André. We try to do the same. It's important to create those special moments with our kids. Any favourite family activities? André: We enjoy going to the park and having picnics. My wife and I also try to get the kids involved in sports to keep them active. How about you? Thomas: That's nice! We often go for bike rides as a family, and we're planning a trip to the mountains this summer. My kids love the outdoors. André: The mountains sound like a great idea. Nature can be so refreshing. Are your kids into any particular hobbies or sports? Thomas: One of my boys is really into soccer, just like me, so we often play in the backyard. The other one is more into art and drawing. It's fun to see their different interests. André: It's wonderful when kids have their own passions. My daughter is quite the artist too, while my son is all about building things with his Lego bricks. Thomas: Kids are such a joy, aren't they? Even with the challenges of balancing work and family, they make it all worth it. André: Absolutely, Thomas. Family is what keeps us motivated and happy. It's been great chatting with you.
