First Conditional:

  • When to use: Use this when talking about real possibilities or predictions in the future.
    • (Wann zu verwenden: Verwenden Sie diesen Ausdruck, wenn Sie über reale Möglichkeiten oder Vorhersagen für die Zukunft sprechen).
  • Structure: If + present simple, will + base verb.
  • Example: If it rains tomorrow, we will stay indoors.

Second Conditional:

  • When to use: Use this when talking about unreal or unlikely situations in the present or future.
    • (Wann zu verwenden: Verwenden Sie diesen Ausdruck, wenn Sie über unwirkliche oder unwahrscheinliche Situationen in der Gegenwart oder Zukunft sprechen).
  • Structure: If + past simple, would + base verb.
  • Example: If I had a million dollars, I would travel the world.
